Firefly Counselling located in Sherwood Park, Alberta, offers therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns, we are particularly noted for our work on couples counselling / communication, trauma, anxiety, stress, addictions and child therapy. Couples Therapist
Firefly Counselling is looking for a contract, Registered Clinical Social Worker to work with adults, with a strong interest and background/training in working with couples and individual clients. This is a part-time/full-time position. Available hours include daytime, evening, and weekends.
We are seeking a Registered Clinical Social Worker with training in / certifying as an:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (Based on Dr. Sue Johnson’s work)

Clinician Requirements:
- In good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers
- Must be on the Clinical Registry
- Two or more years of direct experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Able to provide a clean Criminal Records Check – Vulnerable Sector, and Children Services records check current to 3 months prior application
- Must carry $5 million in professional liability insurance
- Three references with two from established clinicians who have observed your work
Clinician Attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to provide client focused service and care
- Ability to maintain a couples and generalist caseload
- Demonstrated competence in maintaining up to date notes
- Professional production of requested third party payor reports in a timely manner
- Actively engaging in clinical practice continuing education
- Ability to work independently and with other clinicians as needed
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in standard computing skills and software (i.e. M.S. Office, Jane)
- Takes ownership of their actions and decisions
- Willingness to work a range of hours in order to build a caseload
