Workshop Description:

This workshop by Kristy Harcourt, MSW, RSW will delve into the Alberta's proposed legislation to limit health care, school supports and recreation access based on gender identity, and to create barriers to sex education. The presentation will compare the proposed changes to what is currently in place and explore how social workers can step forward as allies in shaping policies and advocating for positive change. Join us for an interactive session aimed at empowering social workers to make a difference. This online presentation is will not be recorded.

Speaker Bio:

Kristy Harcourt (she/her) is a social worker based in Edmonton with a private clinical practice focused on the thriving of 2SLGBTQ individuals and communities. She is an instructor in social work at MacEwan University and at the University of Calgary with research interests in 2SLGBTQ communities, disability and sexuality.
